University Park
Immediately north of Highland Park and five miles north of Downtown Dallas, University Park enjoys the same hallmarks of Highland Park: excellent public schools, convenient shopping and public tennis courts, parks, and a swimming pool. As with Highland Park, it is a separate town with its own schools and delightful family personality. The neighborhood shares a love of the community and many residents grew up in “U.P.” and have chosen to raise their family within blocks of their childhood home. Highland Park Independent School District (HPISD) is a consolidated school district that serves residents in both Highland Park and University Park. The district includes four elementary schools, one middle school, one intermediate school, and Highland Park High School. It is recognized as one of the best public school systems in the United States. More than 95 percent of the district’s students attend college after graduation.
